State at the time of holding
On Saturday, August 18, 2018, we held the "Summer vacation independent research support project Interview Former leprosy patients Recovered from Illness! Become a Journalist!"
We invited Hansen's Disease Former leprosy patients to talk about a variety of topics, including the games they played as children, what happened when they became ill, their relationships with friends and family, and their current lives. The journalists, wearing armbands, asked serious questions with notes in hand as Former leprosy patients showed them photos of themselves when they were younger and allowed them to touch pottery they had made.
I believe that this summer the name Hansen's Disease, and the people who lived with it, were engraved in each of our hearts.
