Welcome to the Hansen's Disease Museum

In recent years, Memorial museum have been established one after another at National leprosy sanatorium across the country. This is an indication that the sanatorium is putting effort into preserving materials and historical sites, promoting awareness through exhibitions and lectures, and interacting with the local community.
On the other hand, there are also Memorial museum that have a long history of operation, memorial halls of former private sanatoriums, and national museums. The number of these museum facilities now stands at 14. Each group carries out unique activities centered around the origins, lifestyle, and culture of sanatoriums. Sanatoriums have a unique history, and the significance of the existence of these facilities that preserves this history and passes it on to society is extremely important.
This exhibition will introduce museum facilities from all over the country in the hopes of deepening understanding of the history of each sanatorium and promoting efforts to preserve materials and historic sites, spread awareness, and interact with local communities. Please come and see it for yourself.

A prize will be presented to those who have collected two types of stamps from the 13 buildings introduced this time and the The National Hansen's Disease Museum

Museum facilities such as Memorial museum, memorial halls, and archives located in Leprosy sanatorium and former sanatoriums across the country carry out a variety of activities. "Welcome to the Hansen's Disease Museum"
Starting from 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 1st, this will be our first attempt as an incidental project to a special exhibition at The National Hansen's Disease Museum. We will be holding social exchange museums, memorial halls, and museums in Leprosy sanatorium and former sanatoriums across the country. A debriefing session was held in the video hall about the various activities being carried out at museum facilities such as .
Personnel in charge of each museum gave detailed activity reports, including photos and videos, introducing the history of the museum's establishment, its history, and main activities, as well as the projects it is currently focusing on. Ta. In addition, although there were no entries for the program, the Cole Museum (formerly the Kairouin Museum) and the pre-opening of the Miyako Nanseien Human Rights Awareness and Exchange Center Hansen's Disease History Museum were also introduced.
