Report on the Screening of the Documentary Film "Descendants of the Wind"
On November 3rd (Sunday, Culture Day), the last day of the 46th Zenshoen Festival, The National Hansen's Disease Museum held a screening of the documentary film "Descendants of the Wind" from 2pm.
We would like to thank the many customers who attended the event. We would like to introduce some of the opinions and comments of the customers who attended.
- I didn't know that this happened in Malaysia. I was impressed by the people who seek their own origins and those who support them.
- I thought again that the policy was too terrible not only in Japan but also in the world. As in the world, I thought that I had to tell the history and truth Hansen's Disease
- Hansen's Disease, but when I looked at the materials in the museum, I thought it had such a history. On top of that, watching this movie, I felt that society is suffering not only the people and parties who have been discriminated against, such as Hansen's Disease
- Japan was forbidden to give birth and Malaysia was allowed but could not be raised. It doesn't make sense to compare them, but they must have been big mistakes in human society, and I am keenly aware that they are one of the things that everyone should know and think about.
- I always take a walk in the Inside the sanatorium The other day, I saw the poster and wanted to see the screening today with my husband, so I came to the museum as a couple. My chest hurts. Hansen's Disease sank in my chest and I burst into tears. Blood and affection that parents and children can't cut. Such sadness should never happen again.
- I was shocked to hear that a child born in a Leprosy sanatorium Malaysia grew up separated from his parents. After this, it affected the lives of children and their families for a long time, and I felt once again the severity of discrimination against Hansen's Disease
We would like to continue to come up with more events that many customers can participate in. This month, we will be holding a screening of the documentary film "Beyond the Invisible Wall," commemorating the 110th anniversary of Tama Zenshoen founding, on Saturday, November 23rd from 1:00 pm to 4:00 pm. We look forward to your participation.
